Way Elsewhere will be an evening of Brazilian music by EntreMundos Quarteto and words by Michelle Peñaloza, Quenton Baker, Chelsea Werner-Jatzke, Nahaan, and Julie Trimingham. The official launch of Julie’s new book Way Elsewhere (The Lettered Streets Press), this event will also kick off the opening of WOMEN ON THE BRINK, a multi-disciplinary show curated by Tracy Rector. Music, readings, and spoken word will be from 6:30-9:30pm on Thursday, May 12 at Vermillion Art Gallery and Bar on Capitol Hill.

In Way Elsewhere, an unnamed narrator ricochets from volcanos to bee hives, from sugarcane fields to glaciers, from friendship to chance encounters. This slim, experimental travelogue defies genre as ardently as it embraces a perilous, wondrous world.  Julie is honored to be sharing the stage with some of Seattle’s acclaimed writers and spoken word artists.  Entre Mundos Quarteto will play before, after, and with some of the readings.
